Presenzialista — Attendance tracking without badges

Attendance tracking is the classic problem that looks small until you count it: badges to buy and replace, a reader for every site, sign-in sheets somebody has to copy out at month end, and the question nobody wants to ask aloud, which is whether the person who clocked in was actually there. For a company under a hundred employees, full HR platforms cost more than the problem they solve, and spreadsheets stop holding as soon as there are two sites.

Presenzialista takes the badge out of the equation. An employee shows their own QR at the terminal, or scans a dynamic QR that keeps changing: either way the entry is tied to a recognised device, an allowed IP address and a verified location. The dashboard holds sites, roles and people together, and the history is there immediately rather than at month end. Companies that grow add separate workspaces with their own rules, without redoing the setup.

The product is online and on sale, with a free plan up to three employees and subscriptions from 19 euro a month upwards, to custom contracts past a hundred. It is developed by H2Bit, the Bologna software house we co-develop vertical management products with. Our role here differs from the other projects on this site: we did not write the product. We bring it to the companies it is the right answer for and set it up, on a share of the revenue that follows.

This is the case that made a rule we repeat in quotes feel concrete: before building, check whether the thing already exists. A custom attendance system costs tens of thousands and has to be maintained for years; for most companies a product at 19 euro a month does the same job better, because many people use it and somebody else has already hit the edge cases. Recommending it loses us a commission and wins us the next conversation.
